Cardiovascular disease kills more than 100 New Zealand women a week, more than all cancers combined. In Canterbury, heart disease killed 374 women in 2009. Ten years ago I was one of these statistics, which was why I set up OutOnaLym Consulting.

When I talk to both men and women in the workplace about concerns they have of their stress levels, I have instant credibility. Having “been there done that”, I can see through all the excuses, justifications, denials and lies we tell ourselves to convince ourselves “it won’t happen to me”.

Ask yourself, “what is the most probable likely outcome if I continue at this rate and whose lives will be severely impacted?”
